Pop Play ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile Ludo board game. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Account data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email address. We use this solely to create and authenticate your Pop Play account.
Game data: We store your game progress, statistics (wins, losses, level, XP), coin balance, equipped cosmetics, campaign progress, and leaderboard entries on our servers.
Device data: We collect a device identifier for push notifications and to prevent multi-device abuse. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or any other device data.
Purchase data: If you make in-app purchases, transaction records are processed by Google Play / Apple App Store. We store a record of what you purchased but never see your payment details (credit card, billing address, etc.).
Avatar photo (optional): If you choose to upload a photo as your in-game avatar, we store the resized image (at most 512×512 pixels), a small thumbnail, and a perceptual hash of the image used to detect re-uploads of removed content. Uploading is optional — you can play with the default randomly-assigned avatar and never upload a photo. We do not access your camera roll or photo library; you select a single photo each time through your device's standard picker.
Your data is stored on secured servers. We use HTTPS for all communications, JWT-based authentication, and follow industry-standard security practices. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We retain your data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile > Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible and removes all game progress, coins, cosmetics, campaign progress, leaderboard entries, and personal information from our servers, including any avatar photo you uploaded.
This section applies only if you choose to upload a photo as your avatar. The default avatar uses an image we provide and triggers no upload.
Visibility: Your avatar is visible to other Pop Play users you encounter in the app — opponents in matches, leaderboards, friend lists, and similar surfaces. Treat it as a public-facing image.
Moderation: Every uploaded avatar is reviewed by a human moderator before it becomes visible to other players. We may reject uploads that violate our content rules (see Terms of Service). Approved photos are typically visible within 24 hours.
Storage: Avatar images are stored on DigitalOcean Spaces (a third-party cloud storage provider) in Singapore and delivered through a global content delivery network. Files are encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Retention of rejected photos: If a moderator rejects your photo, the image bytes are deleted within minutes. We retain a small audit record (the rejection reason, timestamp, and the perceptual hash) so we can prevent re-uploads of the same image and apply repeat-violation cooldowns. Audit records do not contain the original photo.
Replacing or removing your photo: You can replace your avatar at any time, subject to a short cooldown between uploads. Switching back to a default avatar removes your uploaded photo from public view; the bytes are deleted from storage shortly after.
Account deletion: Deleting your account removes your live avatar bytes, the perceptual hash, and the moderation audit log for your account.
Reporting: If you believe an avatar violates our content rules or your rights (e.g., uses your photo without permission), email [email protected] with the in-game name of the user and a description of the issue. Verified reports lead to removal and may result in the offending account being banned.
Pop Play uses Google AdMob to display rewarded video ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings. We do not show interstitial or banner ads — only rewarded ads that you choose to watch.
